The Verso uses Toyota’s Easy Flat-7 system, so all five rear seats fold flat into the boot floor, you pull a catch and the seats tumble away one by one. It’s genuinely clever and should prove useful for those who believe that DIY is a sensible weekend pursuit. The car has good fuel figures and low insurance groups, too. And if anyone is pondering whether they should have one as a company car then, thanks to low C02 emissions, the company car tax brackets are some of the lowest in the class. For private buyers the rock-solid reliability of a Toyota, mixed with the car’s flexibility, means the residuals are so far very good.
